Clicker Dog Training

Positive Results With Clicker Training

If you are looking for a humane and practical method of training your dog, then you might want to give clicker dog training a try. This method is an excellent way to train your dog, as the dog associates the click of the clicker as the actual precursor to the command itself.

When the dog hears the command and then hears the click, they know it is time to actually commit to the request of the owner. This click method is something that has proven to be quite successful for a number of years now, and this may actually be the best way of achieving your training goals.

Combination

When it comes to clicker dog training, you need to understand that it is not the clicker alone that will incite the actions from the command. Good training will not rely on the clicker alone, as there will be any number of other methods used to achieve what is needed. Often the trainer will offer small treats and or a whistle or bell that could help them associate the sounds with the command. This is an excellent way to train the dog, as it covers all of the bases for training purposes. If a dog is not responsive on one measure, there is always another option to be tried. This not to say that the dog will be difficult it simply means that not all dogs understand equally. By having a wide array of techniques at your disposal for training dogs, will only aid in the training process itself.

Multiple Trainers

Sometimes with clicker dog training, it actually helps if you have multiple people doing the training. With multiple trainers, you have a different personality aspects and this will also help with the socialization of the dog as well. Multiple trainers will be good especially if they are all working on the same page, because the dog will be familiar with multiple people giving the dog orders.

This will be similar to a family setting where there may be many family members that share the chores with the dog. This could include walking and feeding the dog, and the dog is going to need to be familiar with all that give commands. This will help the dog with its ability to understand what is expected of them, and if the children of the house are willing to learn they too can click train.

Family Contributions

When it comes to clicker dog training, the whole family can actually get involved. This is something that is not solely reserved for a professional trainer, as it is the dog that actually understands the clicks themselves. If you have a child that spends a lot of time with the dog, they can actually try their hand at training the dog with the clicker. This will allow them to have the dog do what they ask them to do, and not have to worry about the dog failing to meet demands.
